Methamphetamine Drug Lab Victims
Sadly, there are many victims who may suffer from the use of a methamphetamine drug lab. Seventy percent of methamphetamine drug labs in residential homes have children present. These children are in grave risk of injury, sometimes fatal, from exposure to toxic fumes. They are also at risk of an explosions/fires that inflict chemical burns to the body.
The “cooks” themselves are victims because they do not wear protective gear. First Responders, EMT, law enforcement, firefighters, and hospital personnel become victims from the fumes radiating off the offenders clothes. Finally, the actual users of the methamphetamines are victims as well. Most users do not realize that methamphetamine contains thousands of complex chemical chains from everyday household products such as red devil lye drain cleaner, lithium strips from batteries, isopropyl rubbing alcohol, iodine, hydrogen iodine, and ammonium hydroxide. These components are extremely harmful to the body. Below is a link to CNN's article highlights Bio-Clean of NJ's Meth Lab experience. http://www.cnn.com/2010/US/11/29/couple.buys.meth.house/ |
