Graffiti ordinance makes removal owner’s responsibility

GLASSBORO, NEW JERSEY: The Woodbury city council recently voted in favor of a law that will provide harsher punishment for those found making graffiti. This new ordinance finds both the parents and juvenile offenders responsible for their actions. This legislation is similar to a recent ordinance passed in Glassboro, Deptford, and Washington Township. The ordinance imposes strong penalties for offenders. It states that the property owners are responsible for removing the graffiti within 10 business days. If the property owner fails to do so the city can then remove the graffiti at the owner’s expense.
