BED BUG TESTING
SAMPLING FOR BED BUGS
Collecting Your Samples...
Inspect the suspected contaminated areas (usually bedding, sheets, pillows, mattresses & seams, behind bed-boards and picture frames, bed rails, flooring and baseboards under beds) for signs of bed bugs, bed bug droppings (which appear as small specks similar to ground black pepper), as well as blood drops that may have been left behind after feeding.
1. Send us your bed bug sample in a zip lock plastic bag. Be sure to write the location on the outside of the plastic zip-lock bag. (Example: Parents Bedroom Behind Picture)
2. If you can’t find a live bug, but have found other signs of infestation (bed bug feces, bites on skin, blood, etc) collect a bed bug DNA sample by swabbing the areas outlined above as a sample collection point for your sample. You may also use a dust collector to collect your sample. Place your sample in a zip lock plastic bag and write the location on the outside of the plastic zip lock bag.
Note: You may swab multiple areas in one room with the swab sampler. To see if bed bugs are present in other rooms, take separate swab samples and be sure to write the location on the outside of the sample bag. Each sample received by BIO-CLEAN OF NEW JERSEY, will be analyzed and billed as a separate sample.
